I was commissioned to produce an installation as part of an exhibition by the artist Cecilia Hedlund at Konstakademien, the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts (30 Nov 2024 – 18 Jan 2025).

My audio piece ‘A Conversation of Intentionality’, sees my eponymous host invite the sculpture ‘Mur’ on to an imagined podcast without answers. The one-sided conversation is steered towards a specific agenda by my host.

A sly satire of the podcasting genre, I chose this medium to discuss the question at the heart of the exhibition as I’m finding myself increasingly drawn to the format as an artistic methodology. This has been prompted in part by its increasing impact in leading societal conversations untouched by ‘professional’ media, a role being dissected increasingly in light of the 2024 US election.

‘Mur’ is a sculptural wall threatened with demolition in a suburb of Stockholm as the result of a complex web of public/private ownership transfer.

Additionally, I was asked to provide an introduction to Cecilia during the vernissage on 30 Nov 2024.
