As part of the January 2024 edition of ZK/U Berlin’s OPENHAUS, I curated a studio space as a pilot presentation of my ongoing ‘Coastal Narratives’ art-research project.

The exhibition showcased a mixture of staged self-photography, video, mapping and text from my month-long residency at Björkö Konstnod in October 2023. Whilst there, I began to scrutinise the Swedish concept of ‘right to roam’ (“Allemansrätten”) beyond its legal context, by paying witness to the exclusionary nature of the countryside and the forces that omit certain people from an accepted narrative of the nation.
