During the 2020 edition of London’s annual Open City Documentary Festival, I was commissioned to contribute to a number of activities.
I wrote an accompanying essay forVictoria, a collaborative directorial effort by the Belgian trio Sofie Benoot, Liesbeth De Ceulaer and Isabelle Tollenaere, and one of the year’s selected films. The essay was published online and in print.
I also recorded a Q&A for the film screening with Sofie, hosted on the OCDF online platform.
In the same edition, I chaired a conversation on the closing night of the festival featuring two artist-researchers – Henrietta Williams and Merijn Royaards – who in turn had been commissioned by the festival to produce Iustitium/State of Exception, a new project about lockdown London and surveillance.
